Edinburgh Instruments are looking to recruit a Graphic Designer to join our Livingston Headquarters.

What You’ll Be doing

This hybrid role requires a flexible individual to work across multiple businesses, with the capability to think strategically to create design assets that are supported by compelling copy. Supporting the Senior Graphic Designer, the appointed person will be expected to generate and develop great ideas to assist in creating branding, sales and marketing collateral and assist with videography design work. Applicants must be multi-talented, with extensive design skills and a sound knowledge of Digital and Content Marketing principles.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Create and edit content for video platforms, combined with small animations using motion graphics.
  • Creation of high quality, innovative content for internal and external marketing communications.
  • Design and delivery of graphic design content for marketing strategies, both on and offline.
  • Management, design and editing of all digital files and Marketing collateral.
  • Identify new and creative ideas to help develop and improve the Marketing communications strategy.
  • Support web development in the management of the company website.
  • Create, maintain and upload videos, images and content to online channels as required.
  • Understanding the importance of presenting ideas & concepts to the wider team, and senior management.
  • Assist with photographic requirements which may include product photography, lab images and team members.
  • Drive brand guidelines across divisions to ensure consistency.
  • Deputise for Senior Graphic Designer during absences with decision making authority.
  • Undertake off-site visits to support the Company as required.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Company quality procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties allocated by your Line Manager.

What You’ll Need to Bring

  •  Degree or other further education award in Graphic Design or Visual Communications.
  • Good communication skills with confidence to present ideas.
  • High level of knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, with a focus on InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Extensive design skills and a sound knowledge of Digital and Content Marketing principles.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience of working within an In-house or agency environment, would be prove useful in this role.
  • Motion graphics experience with Adobe After Effect, knowledge of html and experience with WordPress would be beneficial.
  • Photography and video shooting and editing skills would be advantageous.
